💰 Caretaker Deposit (Bond)
To confirm your caretaker placement, we ask for a small refundable deposit.
This helps ensure that living areas and shared spaces are well maintained and ready for the next helper.
Your deposit will be returned within 5 business days via PayID after you complete your agreed period on the property, provided that:
🧹 The space is cleaned and left in good condition.
🛏️ Bedding is washed and made up.
🚫 No damage or extra cleaning is required.
If you cancel after confirming, do not arrive, or leave significantly earlier than planned, the deposit may not be refunded.
This bond is a form of security for property care — not a booking fee or commercial payment.

Helpers contribute about 3 hours daily with tasks such as animal care, gardening, and light property maintenance.

Getting Here – Direction, Uber Recommended 🚗
Please be aware that we do not offer pickups from the airport or city. We encourage guests to use Uber or arrange their own transportation.
🚖 Uber is available from Darwin Airport and can bring you directly to Berry Springs. Plan ahead to ensure a smooth arrival.
Berry Springs Farmstay is a private hobby property, offering helpers the chance to learn and practise hands-on rural skills:

Proper animal care is essential. We provide written guidelines to ensure every animal is cared for safely and consistently.
Helpers are expected to read and follow instructions carefully — this is the best way to protect and respect the animals’ well-being. 🐾
⏰ Morning (6:30 AM – 8:30 AM)
Feed and check animals 🐾
Refill water bowls and clean enclosures
Cut fresh food for the animals — usually grasses, banana plants, or garden greens 🍌🌿
Tidy animal areas and weed around the outdoor kitchen and shared spaces 🌱

If there are storms or heavy rain, duties should be completed before or after the weather event for safety reasons. It is critical to always check on the wellbeing of animals after each big storm, ensuring fences, shelters, and water areas are safe and secure. ⛈️🐾

✅ Walk to the nearby IGA, Restaurant & cafe and popular Berry Springs tavern for basic essentials and meals.
💡 Keeping your outdoor kitchen area clean is essential! Flies and insects are common in the NT, so tidying up after yourself is a must.

🚫 Do not take food into rooms—this attracts insects.
🧹 Extra cleaning and pest control costs will be deducted from your deposit if needed.
