🤝 Helper Arrangement & Work Support
Our helper stays are a helping arrangement, not paid employment.
If you’re also looking for paid work or regional work during your time in the NT, we’re happy to point you towards opportunities and useful local resources in Darwin, Berry Springs and surrounding areas.
This gives you the opportunity to enjoy farm life while using Berry Springs as a base for your time in the Top End. 🌿
There is no accommodation charge for approved helper stays. 🌿
Instead, helpers contribute around 3 hours of flexible help per day with activities such as animal care, gardening and outdoor projects while experiencing everyday life on our tropical hobby farm.
💚 Commitment Deposit
A small commitment deposit is required when your stay is confirmed. This helps us avoid last-minute cancellations and reserve the space for people who are genuinely committed to coming.
The deposit is separate from accommodation and is handled according to our helper terms and conditions.
It’s a simple exchange for travellers who enjoy animals, nature and getting involved in rural life. 🐾🌴

As a caretaker, your responsibilities will include:
- Caring for animals: Feed, groom, and tend to our beloved animals, including donkeys, goats, chickens, dogs, and more.
- Farm maintenance: Assist with general farm duties, including maintaining enclosures, cleaning animal areas, and helping with gardening.
- General upkeep: Help with fencing, landscaping, and other projects that keep the farm running smoothly.
In exchange for your help, we provide:
- Free Stay: Enjoy the peaceful surroundings, our 12 meter pool and the beauty of nature.
- Experience: Learn new skills in animal care, farm maintenance, and rural living in an idyllic environment.
- Creativity: Contribute to the success and harmony of the hobby farm and let the landlord know about your ideas.
