Switch the water sprinklers on and rotate them around the pool while you are in the pool. Make sure the electrical equipment is not getting wet but the verandah needs to feel cooler. Keep the sprinkler on every afternoon.

Water all plants in the morning and late afternoon. Fertilize as required.

Here’s how you can get involved in garden maintenance volunteering:

Mowing:

Mowing around the pool and lawn areas.
When: Every Monday, every 2 weeks 

Whipper Snipping

Where: around the pool, lawn areas, walking paths.
When: Every Monday, every 2 weeks 

Planting and Cultivating:

Assist with planting flowers, herbs, vegetables, and other plants to create a welcoming and enriching environment for our animals.

Help with soil preparation, watering, weeding, and mulching to ensure the health and vitality of our garden beds.

Pruning and Trimming:

Trim bushes, shrubs, and hedges to maintain tidy and well-manicured garden borders.

Prune trees and remove dead or overgrown branches to promote healthy growth and prevent hazards.

Garden Cleanup:

Remove debris, leaves, and other organic matter from garden beds, pathways, and outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness and prevent pest infestations.

Dispose of garden waste responsibly and assist with composting or recycling efforts where applicable.

Pest Control:

Monitor plants for signs of pests and diseases and take appropriate measures to control infestations using organic and environmentally friendly methods.

Help implement pest prevention strategies to protect our plants and create a safe and healthy environment for our animals.

Garden Design and Planning:

Contribute ideas and suggestions for garden design and layout to create aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor spaces.

Assist with planning seasonal plantings and implementing landscape enhancements to improve the overall look and feel of our gardens.

Education and Engagement:

Share your gardening knowledge and skills with other volunteers and visitors to Act&Care through informal gardening workshops or educational sessions.

Foster a sense of community and collaboration among volunteers by working together to maintain and beautify our outdoor spaces.
