💧 Living with Bore Water
Our property relies entirely on bore water, drawn from deep underground and powered by our solar pump. This means water is a precious, limited resource — especially during the dry season or when power is low.
🌅 Daily Water Care
Fill water tanks every morning when the sun is shining and solar power is active.
Check water levels again in the afternoon to ensure there’s enough for evening and overnight use.
When tanks are full, you’ll see a small overflow — this is normal and means the system is ready.
⚡ During Storms
Turn off and unplug the bore pump before every storm.
Lightning strikes are common in our area and can destroy the pump — leaving us without water and facing costly repairs.Make sure all tanks are completely full before the storm arrives.
Check the weather radar daily so you can prepare in advance.
🚱 Water Conservation
Always turn taps off completely after use — even small drips can waste large amounts over time.
Report leaks or unusual pressure immediately.
Use basins, buckets, or leftover water from washing to water plants when possible.
Avoid letting hoses run unattended — always be present when using water outdoors.
🧺 Washing & Cleaning
Do laundry during sunny hours, when solar power supports the bore pump.
Keep showers short and simple — every drop matters.
Use biodegradable soaps and cleaning products to protect the groundwater quality.
🌿 Shared Responsibility
Everyone living on the property plays a part in managing our water system.
By filling tanks on time, switching off the pump during storms, and avoiding waste, you help keep our bore water system running safely and sustainably for everyone. 💧🌞
